Eileen Coxon Trained
at Norwich School of Art, Eileen paints with a delicate touch - wild
plants on the farm and in the countryside reflect her interest in
natural history.
Delia Tournay-Godfrey Painterly
and atmospheric oil paintings of figures in the landscape and
landscapes painted directly from the subject in East
Anglia and Italy. Emphasis on composition and drawing.
David Rock 50
years a practising architect, he always painted. His work is not
hampered by any rigidity of design – urban landscapes are freely
treated in line and watercolour.

group of artists who meet in each other’s houses to work: Agnes

John Barker Abstract paintings in vivid colours and bird studies in black-and-white. John trained at Hornsey and Colchester Art Schools. Honor
Surie
Most of her working life having been devoted to ceramics, Honor
now paints calm evocations of the river, trees and marshlands. Colin Slee atmospheric images of the estuary landscape and Suffolk skies. Colin has exhibited widely in East Anglia and in the Mall Galleries in London.

Arabella Crum Ewing

Arabella Crum Ewing Work
from a particular project – the basic and elemental image of a hand,
using paint instead of her usual medium of printmaking. Arabella lives
in Saxmundham.
Anya King Trained at Norwich and the Royal
Academy Schools (MA), Anya works in oil and mixed media for her
semi-abstract view of plants, animals and human life-cycles. Kyle Gregg This
young Ipswich artist shows a series of intricate drawings, each one
following the same set of rules e.g. having 50 lines, repeating the
structure from a central point.
Alice Garland Alice’s
beautiful and delicate ceramics are becoming widely known especially in
this area, her ‘home ground’. She has a studio in Cookley. Anthony Giltrow With
no formal art education, influenced by Magritte, he has been painting
with enthusiasm, in surreal mode, for some years. Anthony says “I find
it difficult to say anything about my works in words”.

Ruth McCabe Began
painting in 1997 with the guidance of tutor Julie Noad. Ruth responds
to rounded and dance-like forms of subjects, landscape and animals,
abstract and representational. Miles Fairhurst Main
influences are the great East Anglian artists, concerned with light and
atmosphere. Miles exhibits regularly with the Royal Society of Marine
Artists and has works in world-wide collections. Nawala Hoggett Originally
from Iraq, Nawala has lived in Suffolk for 20 years, training in design
and textile art at Lowestoft and Ivy House. Her experiments with new
techniques and materials also show Arabic influences. |

Tom Mallin |
September 5 – 16
Tom and Muriel Mallin As
a celebration of the life and work of his parents, Rupert Mallin is
mounting this exhibition. Tom Mallin was painter, illustrator and
sculptor; Muriel Mallin an accomplished landscape painter. David Thompson One-time
art critic of The Times, Director of the ICA, etc.! David now paints in
Suffolk - trees being a favourite subject. He will show charcoal
drawings of trees that were uprooted in the hurricane.
