5 - 23 MAY
Retrospective Exhibition
Colin Moss 1914 - 2005
Born in Ipswich, Colin Moss is regarded as one
of Suffolk's most respected artists. He became a lecturer at Ipswich
School of Art in 1947, and often visited Halesworth. His work with
its rich colour and exuberant use of paint, and powerful portraits
of working-class people, still excites us.
There is a website devoted to Colin's work at www.colinmoss.co.uk
John Carter 1927 - 2004
John lived in Halesworth from 1977 to 1984, before
moving to Southern Spain, where he died.
This exhibition is an overdue recognition by Halesworth Gallery of one
of the town's talented artists. His paintings have been compared to
those of the Euston Road Group -interiors, landscapes and sensitive
nudes.
